Job Description

Keysight Technologies, the world's premier measurement company, has an opening for an R&D Compound Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer at the High Frequency Technology Center in Santa Rosa, California. Live in beautiful Sonoma County among vineyards, redwood forests, rivers, lakes and coastline while working on state-of-the-art ICs and devices.


The main job responsibilities will include 1) the development and sustaining of cutting-edge micro- and nano-fabrication technologies for high-performance microwave and millimeter-wave applications and 2) MBE growth and optimization, epitaxial design, and MBE system calibration for compound semiconductor technologies.  These technologies include InP and GaAs-based HBT, HEMT, and other electronic components which determine the key competitive specifications enabling industry-leading RF, microwave and high bit rate instruments.   


The Integration Engineer works closely with circuit design and other process and device engineers to define material, process, and device performance targets, define process flows, develop and improve unit processes, design and characterize new devices and components, and develop new fabrication processes and vehicle circuits. Project objectives will encompass performance, reliability and manufacturing goals. The Integration Engineer will also be responsible for assuring successful transfer and maintenance of new technologies in manufacturing.  The work contributes meaningfully to the manufacture of the compound semiconductor IC’s driving Keysight’s multi-billion-dollar electronic test and measurement business.

Job Qualifications
  • M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with advanced semiconductor processes and devices is essential
  • Experience using MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) systems and growing semiconductor material is essential
  • Specific skills in III-V device physics and processing are highly desirable
  • Experience with statistical process control and design of experiments is desired
  • Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills for successful inter-group and intra-group interactions.
  • US Citizenship/Permanent Resident status is recommended, but applications from highly qualified candidates requiring work sponsorship will also be considered. Candidates requiring work sponsorship must be eligible for access to export-controlled electronics technology.
