Job Description

As market leaders, Keysight is at the heart of the current technology revolutions. We help our customers accelerate their innovations to connect and secure the world anywhere, anytime with any information – voice, data, video, and whatever they can imagine next. As a SW/DSP software design engineer, you will join a PathWave Software Solution (PSS) R&D team located primarily in Santa Rosa, CA, and partner closely with teams around the globe developing software for the Keysight PathWave Vector Signal Analysis Software (aka 89600VSA). You will also work with other PSS EDA teams to define and implement end-to-end software solutions span from design/simulation to test. Our team is a core and essential part of Keysight’s product development group for 5G communications and leads the engagement for 6G.

Our team is responsible for researching, creating, validating, and implementing technology such as modulation analysis, channel coding/decoding, MIMO, and OTA, using industry-leading technology in a highly collaborative development environment. 89600VSA is versatile, hardware agnostic tool for signal analysis, while it can also be closely integrated with more than 70 types of Keysight hardware including signal analyzer, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and digitizers to take the advantage of the intrinsic HW capability for the most accurate measurement results and utilize ASICs/FPGAs/GPUs for measurement acceleration. We are looking for experienced candidates who are excited about the latest technologies and shape up the future solutions which link design and test.  The successful candidate will lead and participate in the early investigation, software architecture design, and development work, focusing on long term research goals but also be able to respond effectively to current customer requirements. To do so, the successful candidate will coordinate with world-wide teams and provide leadership and mentoring to other team members.

Job Qualifications


•    BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related engineering discipline with software emphasis
•    Strong background in digital signal processing or wireless communications
•    5+ years software development experience
•    Strong knowledge and experience in object oriented (OO) design and programming
•    Proficient in building, testing, and debugging software
•    Demonstrated ability to work with a team and collaborate effectively with across global teams of engineers achieve objectives
•    Understand business and customer needs and apply knowledge to create innovative solutions
•    Interest or experience in Machine Learning, Neural Networks or AI would also be an advantage
•    Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
•    Proven ability to deliver complex and challenging assignments
•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and professional growth
•    Prior experience with EDA tools such as Keysight ADS, Keysight SystemVue is a plus


Preferred location is Santa Rosa, CA but will consider Santa, CA
