Job Description


Keysight Technologies, the world's premier measurement company, has a new position for a New Technology Introduction Engineer to establish a new factory line for R&D and production of System in Package (SiP) and Subsystems. This position is within the High Frequency Technology Center at our Headquarters in Santa Rosa, California. Live in beautiful Sonoma County amongst vineyards, redwood forests, rivers, lakes and coastline, while developing and expanding a state-of-the-art semiconductor assembly factory.


HFTC is part of Keysight Labs, the core R&D organization that enables Keysight’s Centers of Excellence, Industry Solutions Teams and Technology Centers to provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G Test and Measurement solutions to customers in the communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, general electronics, manufacturing, and semiconductor industries. HFTC technologies include InP and GaAs-based HBTs, HEMTs, and diodes, as well as high-frequency packaging and assembly solutions. 


We are seeking an industry professional with proven expertise in project management, lean manufacturing, factory automation, as well as leadership, drive and ambition to realize a novel technology that differentiates Keysight in 6G markets.


The focus of this position is on establishing a new, fully automated electronic packaging line in response to Keysight’s heterogeneous integration roadmap. Leadership and creativity are key to succeed. Responsibilities may include: 


  • Define, implement, and optimize a new R&D and manufacturing line for semiconductor wafer-level (SiP) and subsystem/module assembly.
  • Implement a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) by leading cross functional partners.
  • Guide the creation of automated assembly programs and machine code from product CAD imports.
  • Enable emerging next generation 6G products by developing and implementing novel, manufacturable, optimized and robust factory integration solutions.
  • Partner with mechanical and electronic designers, process and integration engineers, and customers across functions to meet project deliverables for new product introductions.
  • Work with Engineering and Operations partners to define manufacturing performance targets.
  •  Assist in capital equipment acquisition projects that include tool specification, qualification, process development and release to production.

Job Qualifications


B.S. or M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant fields.


Professional experience in the following areas is desired: 

•    Project management
•    Heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging & assembly techniques
•    Statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE)
•    Factory setup and lean manufacturing


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important for successful cross-functional interactions.
