Job Description

Keysight Technologies, the world's premier measurement company, has an opening for an R&D Process Integration and Development Engineer. This position is within the High Frequency Technology Center at our headquarters in Santa Rosa, California. Live in beautiful Sonoma County amongst vineyards, redwood forests, rivers, lakes and coastline while working on state-of-the-art ICs and devices.

HFTC is part of Keysight Labs, the core R&D organization that enables Keysight’s Centers of Excellence, Industry Solutions Teams and Technology Manufacturing Centers to provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G Test and Measurement solutions to customers in the communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, general electronics, manufacturing, and semiconductor industries. We are seeking an industry professional with proven expertise in electronic packaging technologies as well as leadership, drive and ambition to integrate a novel technology that differentiates Keysight.
 
The main job responsibilities will include the development and sustaining of cutting-edge micro- and nano-fabrication technologies for high-performance microwave and millimeter-wave applications. The area of focus will be high-frequency packaging and assembly solutions which enable key competitive differentiation of Keysight’s industry-leading RF, microwave, mmWave and high bit rate instruments. 
 
Project objectives will encompass performance, reliability and manufacturing goals. The Integration Engineer will also be responsible for assuring successful transfer and maintenance of new technologies in manufacturing.  The work contributes meaningfully to the manufacture of the compound semiconductor IC’s driving Keysight’s multi-billion-dollar electronic test and measurement business. This is a hands-on engineering role bridging technology and process engineering. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Drive heterogeneous integration development projects critical to Keysight’s high frequency packaging roadmap
  • Define, implement, and improve assembly, interconnect, and packaging processes for microwave and mmWave applications
  • Partner with mechanical and electronic designers, process engineers, technicians and customers across functions to meet project deliverables
  • Define material, process, and device performance targets
  • Design and characterize new devices, components, and vehicle circuits

 

Job Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a semiconductor processing or integration role is required
  • Experience with statistical process control and design of experiments is required
  • Experience in the following fields is highly desirable:
  • Experience with advanced semiconductor devices and packaging is required
  • III-V semiconductor processing
  • MEMS processing
  • Heterogeneous integration or silicon interposer processing

 

Candidates must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills for successful inter and intra-group interactions. 
Must have strong accountability, self-initiative and proactive attitude
