Job Description

Firmware Engineer:

 

As part of the High Frequency Measurement Center of Excellent (COE) organization, you will be working with engineers around the world to create test and measurement products that delight our customers. You will be part of a development team responsible for the software deliverables needed to control and calibrate signal generators.

As a firmware engineer, you will focus on the design, development, and testing of software that controls the signal generator’s hardware. As a successful candidate, you will: 

1.    Review and understand Customer Requirements
2.    Review, created, or update Product Definitions
3.    Participate in software scheduling and architectural design
4.    Implement software that controls the hardware to generate signals 
5.    Lead/participate in design and code reviews
6.    Work closely with QA and NPI engineers to ensure software meets quality standards
7.    Properly document solutions
8.    Attend and participate in project meetings
9.    Stay current with evolution of software and measurement tools

Job Qualifications

Recent College Graduate with Bachelors or Masters Degree or University Degree in CE/CS or equivalent 
•    Understanding of Object-Oriented Design and UML
•    Working knowledge of C++ and/or C#/Java
•    Working knowledge in building, testing, and debugging software 
•    Good organizational skills 
•    Good written and verbal communications skills 

 

Desired Requirements:
•    Working knowledge of electronic test equipment
•    Understanding of RF/microwave concepts

 

Previous intern or academic projects focusing on firmware is strongly preferred 

 

Position will be located in Santa Rosa, CA.
