Job Description

Join an extremely talented and multi-disciplinary team uniquely chartered with inventing and developing breakthrough electronic measurement technologies.  As part of Keysight’s OTA measurements group, you’ll work with a team of experts in fields chamber design, RF component design, mechanics design engineers with applications ranging mobile device measurements, base station measurements, radar measurements.  You’ll see the results of your work in, for example, the latest next generation over the air measurement solutions ranging from MHz to THz, thus defining future of measurement systems defined by you.

 

Team members are typically assigned to one of a handful development and new investigation — each aimed at providing breakthrough technologies for Keysight.  These projects can be self-initiated by staff (perhaps you!) or by request from partner organizations in Keysight.  As an OTA CoE (center of excellence) our role is to develop and validate these technologies and take it to the commercialization by Keysight’s businesses.  

 

As a member of the team, your expertise will be applied in a variety of ways and on a variety of projects.  You’ll be asked to:
•    Identify how to improve the measurement speed and decrease measurement uncertainty for mmW measurements
•    Identify technology trends and how they can be best harnessed for Keysight
•    Invent new measurement concepts with the potential to significantly impact OTA measurement industry 
•    Provide backed technical support to 3GPP and CTIA standardization work 
•    Work on new innovative antenna measurement methodologies and implement these innovative concepts in actual hardware and software to take it all the way to commercialization 

 

With your core skillset and a position in Keysight OTA CoE, you will play a critical role in contributing to the revolution in the over the air test industry.


This job must be performed from our office in Santa Rosa, California to enable close collaboration with team members.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a deep theoretical understanding as well as strong practical skills in the area of antennas, OTA measurement theory, RF/mmW component design and measurements. This position will have tasks split between product development and applied research position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a willingness to delve deeply into challenging problems and an ability to propose, develop, and implement innovative yet practical solutions.  Also, the job will require the candidate to be able to define all the test requirements of the design and be able to transfer it to for production. The job will require design and development chamber and OTA methodologies for various for a variety of applications.

 

Job Requirements:
•    MS with 3-5+ years of experience/Ph.D. with 2-3+ years of experience in RF, Microwave (uw) or Millimeter Wave (mmW) design
•    Specialization in OTA measurements is preferred 
•    Proven Expertise with

  •        Antenna design (such as reflector antenna or antennas for base station/handsets)  
  •        RF circuit design  
  •        Antenna theory
  •        Electromagnetic theory
  •        3D EM Simulation tools
  •        Chamber modeling and design
  •        MATLAB simulation tool

•    Strong communication skills
•    Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of peers

 

Other valuable skills:
•    Hands-on experience with test and measurement instrumentation
•    Noise and signal analysis experience
•    Wireless communication fundamentals
