The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) located on Keysight’s campus in Santa Rosa, CA exists to provide high precision mechanical solutions that enable the capabilities of Keysight’s industry leading electronic measurement equipment. As a manufacturing engineer you will design, develop and sustain manufacturing processes for precision glass to metal seals for high frequency microwave applications. Working closely with R&D on microwave and mm wave applications, you will provide DFM consultation on designs of precision glass to metal seals and hermetic assemblies, facilitating their release into manufacturing by designing processes, tooling and fixturing.

Responsibilities

As a manufacturing engineer your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with R&D on the design, fabrication, and process development of precision glass to metal seal technology and hermetic assemblies
  • Process design
  • Apply knowledge of materials science to collaborate with and provide consulting to R&D, procurement and manufacturing engineering in the research, specification, sourcing and qualification of materials used in the design and production of Keysight products.
  • Identify and qualify alternative materials when needed.
  • Provide DFM on new product designs
  • Fixture designs
  • Develop, troubleshoot and document processes
  • Root cause analysis
  • Documentation creation and maintenance
  • Capital Equipment investigations and acquisitions
  • Lead development projects requiring coordination with other functions, suppliers
  • Solve a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity
Job Qualifications

This role requires a combination of technical knowledge of engineering theory and hands on approach to manufacturing.

• Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Materials Science or applicable Sciences
