The Keysight Technology Organization (KTO) has an entry level opportunity for a  Market Intelligence (MI) Analyst within its Strategic Planning Organization (SPO).  This is an opportunity to learn and grow in this challenging field of Product marketing and business development. 
 
Within Keysight,  a market intelligence (MI) analyst increases the speed and quality of strategic business decisions by helping to provide: 
1.    information, modeling and analysis of industries, customers, and competitors
2.    tools, systems, processes, and training to facilitate market research and information sharing
3.    processes to facilitate strategic decision making. Included in those activities are supporting Keysight’s strategic planning process, Keysight competitive market modeling, Keysight market share analysis, Keysight investor relations information support, management of 3rd party knowledge resources, operational metrics support, and ad hoc market, customer and competitor analysis
 
A Keysight MI analyst will gain  a working knowledge of Keysight’s key industries, markets and customers sets including wireless and wireline telecommunications, aerospace/defense, automotive and energy, education, as well as new and emerging potential markets for Keysight. The overall goal of the Keysight market intelligence team is to support Keysight’s lines of business in making well-informed business decisions that drive customer success and continued brand loyalty. This will be achieved by building on Keysight’s foundation of operational excellence and driving revenue, margins and EPS growth.  A Keysight MI analyst supports these objectives by delivering timely, accurate and objective data driven insights and perspective that supports market leading business decision making in the areas of strategy and resource investment. 
 
The market intelligence (MI) analyst will go through a rotational training with various team leads to learn the various stages and strategies of market analysis. 
 
Key objectives:

  •     Perform market scanning, analysis and modeling 
  •    Deliver industry, customer and competitor analysis
  •     Support 3rd party knowledge and resource management
  •     Provide operations metrics around selected Keysight business initiatives
  •     Strategic consulting
  •     Support special requests for topics related to any of the above

 

Responsibilities

Participate in market scanning, analysis and modeling efforts

  •     Identify and track market and competitive dynamics
  •     Create thorough and objective financial models and projections
  •     Provide a consistent framework, tools and processes for implementing models
  •     Collaborate with internal partners to create and communicate consistent models with selected sub-segments of Keysight’s chosen markets
  •     “Tie-out” with the corporate econometric outlook and chosen external data sources
  •     “Tie-out” with quarterly market segment analysis and financial results
  • Deliver industry, customer and competitor analysis 
  •     Provide quarterly reporting deliverables, including revenue data and market news
  •     Analyze technology trends and customer performance
  •     Gather competitor performance, quarterly and annually

Support 3rd party knowledge and resource management 

  •     Inbound: provide a process for the management of a budget and efficient acquisition and sharing of select analysts reports that will impact the Keysight's perspective on select industries, regions, or customers (provide support for ad hoc report investigations as needed)
  •     Outbound: provide a point person for delivering selected data out to analysts (e.g. Frost & Sullivan, etc.)

Provide operations metrics around selected key initiatives

  •     Create and communicate metrics and analysis for key activities (e.g. Growth initiatives, R&D efficiency programs, and competitive programs, etc.)
  •     Support alignment of metrics with existing Keysight reports and processes
  •     Validate performance against goals and report findings

 
Support special requests for ad hoc analysis for any related topics, listed above
•    Support the creation and presentation of special work products as needed

Job Qualifications

Qualifications 
•    Candidate must have an BS or MS Engineering degree or technical equivalent degree
•    MBA or Masters equivalent is required

Although all are not required, we are looking for a combination of the following skills for this MI Analyst role

  • Ability and experience in networking with key individuals inside and outside the immediate organization to drive strategic dialog and decisions
  • Ability to quickly acquire an in-depth knowledge of customer, market, competitive, business, and technology situation and integrate it into strategies that deliver sustainable competitive advantage

 

Process:

  •  Ability to create processes across distributed organizations
  •  Good understanding  how to analyze and summarize market research and using strategic frameworks 
  •  Knowledge of economy, financial concepts and corporate accounting 
  •  Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire an in-depth knowledge of customer, market, competitive, business, and technology situation and integrate it into strategies that deliver sustainable competitive advantage

Communication skills:

  •  Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing on business, strategy, technical, product, and solution issues 
  •  Ability to work independently 
  •  Ability to work cross-organizationally, and have a reputation as a team player
  •  Knowledge of economy, financial concepts and corporate accounting
