  • Are you detail-oriented with a passion for quality and accuracy?
  • Do you enjoy working with new Software Platforms (Oracle CPQ, SalesForce) and programming solutions?

If you answered “yes” to the above, then there is a unique opportunity available in the Keysight Technologies Knowledge Engineering (KE) Team

Keysight Technologies is #1 in Electronic Design and Test products.  Through our almost 80-year history as Hewlett-Packard, and then Agilent Technologies, and now Keysight Technologies we have innovated through new business expansion.  Our customers now demand full solutions with broader offerings of software and services.  Typical applications which use our products are the design and test of Wireless 5G, Automotive Radar, Space and Satellite, and Internet Infrastructure.  It is imperative that Sales people quickly create accurate quotes/orders of our products for our customers.

The Knowledge Engineer is responsible for designing configuration solutions to simplify the ordering process, ensuring Keysight products and services are accurately built to customer and company specifications.  The goal is to achieve >99% quote and order execution without error.  The Knowledge Engineers help achieve these goals by making the quoting process:

  • EASY:  Create Configurator UI so simple and logical that it guides the Sales people to a good solution. The KE hides the complexity, having the system make all decisions that are implied by a configuration, so Sales can focus on selling.
  • ACCURATE:  Write configurator rules so that orders can be configured accurately, ensuring order arrives at Manufacturing with no errors.
  • ROBUST:  Address multiple use cases, through all sales channels, and in all regions/countries.
  • INTEGRATED:  Link to other systems (Tax, Trade, Revenue, Contracts, Customer Documents) to enable correct business processes and reporting

The Knowledge Engineering Team is a high-performance group of individuals who are passionate about quality.  We are looking for a unique individual who can work in a team that interacts with Marketing, R&D, Sales, Manufacturing, and IT.   This role is critical for setting up new products, enabling products to flow to customers, and ultimately for revenue to flow into the company.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities
  • Understand product features in order to create software and hardware configuration UI for new products to be used by the Sales Team.
  • Coordination and optimization of pricing in Oracle for (all) products, working directly with Product Managers and R&D.
  • Collaborate with Order Fulfillment, R&D, Product Management, the internal database standards group, and IT; and play an internal consultant role related to product structure.
  • Execute test scenarios to validate configuration rules and UI/UX.
  • Develop and maintain rules in Configurator Developer for desired product representation, enabling the ordering of a valid product that meets the customer's requirements.
  • Provide quick response to fix configuration errors identified by Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service Reps, or Customers.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts related to product representation and the ordering of valid products.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or Computer Science
  • Database: Oracle SQL, MySQL
  • Preferred skills: Java, C/C++, Python, Web and scripting languages (JavaScript, CSS, REST API)
  • Desire candidate with UI/UX experience.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with Application-Server Software Platforms (we use Oracle CPQ, Siebel, and SalesForce)
  • Sense of customer urgency: impact to customer and enabling quote-to-cash process.
  • Demonstrated ability to do analytical problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to define complex logic expressions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focusing on partnership with Product Management and R&D Teams.
