Job Description

As a Quality Engineer you will work to improve process and product quality to ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded. This is a growing new product introduction area for optical products.  This job will focus on assembly processes for optics.  This position will consult to ensure that high quality products are design, engineered and manufactured by Keysight, in conformance with customer requirements, required standards and regulations.  This position will also develop and implements quality initiatives to improve the organization’s core business processes and to influence the development of a customer- centered organization.

 

  • Review product and process quality data to explore process improvement opportunities.  
  • Develop new quality tools and reports to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Use quality tools to suggest alternatives for improvement and change management skills to drive improvement.
  • Work across different functions to develop corrective actions
  • Develop process qualification infrastructure
  • Establish process capability tools
  • The Mechanical Quality Engineer will work with suppliers on improving and maintaining their quality against Keysight specifications.
  • Work with suppliers to develop sourcing processes and systems necessary to make high-precision products.
  • Provide technical resources for non-conforming materials and outsourcing.
  • Create SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot inspection challenges.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree/ Master Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Science as well as experience in Mechanical Design
  • 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Control, Process Development, and Manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with precision mechanical assembly processes or optics would be an advantage
  • Demonstrates hands-on experience and capability to drive Lean Manufacturing Principles in a factory environment in electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong quantitative process development skills including (p)FMEA, tolerance analysis, DoE, SPC, GR&R, and CpK. 
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively and concisely having leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and possess a can-do with quality first attitude and take ownership over LEAN initiatives
  • Ability to successfully communicate and transfer design work from the project stage to the production stage.
  • Good Understanding of CAD (Solid Works), and PLM (Agile) software.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset, diligent and accurate
  • Self-motivated and flexible individual able to function in a high energy fast-paced team environment with minimal direction.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire a high-capacity technical team
