Fab Machinist
Job Description
Create high precision optics using optical fabrication machinery. Fabricate, grind and/or polish precision optics using a variety of equipment. Must be able to verify accuracy of finished product, as well as support process and product development. Focused on fabricating high quality products and quickly meeting customer’s needs.
Job Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in operations, set up, and programming of optics fabrication equipment
- Excellent teamwork is a must.
- Skilled running optical polishers, lappers, and grinders
- Able to set up, operate and program CNC machinery
- Skilled with optical metrology equipment
- Inspecting parts using auto autocollimators and interferometers
- Skilled to visually inspect parts for defects
- Able to run glass fabrication machinery
- Optics handling skills to prevent scratches and defects
- Good communications skills
- Able to work standing in machine tool environment
- Preferred to have basic computer data entry skills
