Job Description

Improves products, processes and components to meet agreed-upon objectives. May redesign products or components to meet cost objectives, component technology obsolescence and customer requirements. Participates actively in new product introduction, including influencing the design of the product to ensure manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain, enabling prototyping while in the R&D lab, testing the reliability of prototypes and managing the transition into production. Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product. Partners with procurement and technical services to improve/sustain products and processes. May direct the work of third party vendors and/or partners to meet contract specified deliverables, performance or business objectives. May work with suppliers to ensure achievement of goals for cost, quality and delivery of parts and materials. May identify and manage ERP data such as bill of material and routing. Materials engineer: Applies knowledge of materials science to collaborate with and provide consulting to R&D, procurement and manufacturing engineering in the research, specification, sourcing and qualification of materials used in the design and production of Keysight products. Plans, evaluates and recommends technical, quality and cost specifications to meet design and business growth objectives and supply chain optimization. Identifies and qualifies alternative materials when needed. Work with suppliers to clarify specifications to meet quality, cost and manufacturability goals. Discipline:
•    Govern the product line for compliances such as setup clean room protocol and process control, perform production self-audits, run sampling on products/process, change control with proper documentation, communication and execution, drive risk management event and govern nonconforming process control.
•    Leads development projects requiring coordination with other functions, suppliers, etc.
•    Monitors performance, quality, and reliability of low level material, product, tooling, machinery or equipment, identifies problems or unfavorable deviations, recommends and execute corrective actions. 
•    Keeps abreast of the state of the art in areas of expertise. Applies this knowledge to the area of responsibilities so as to improve performance, versatility, quality, and reliability or cost effectiveness of products, processes, tooling, machinery and equipment. 
•    Implement the use of SQC, FMEA, in-process inspection and other quality tools.
•    Able to train, lead and coordinate assigned task independently with minimum guidance.
•    Supports Departmental Initiatives and BFT.
•    Leads departmental implementation and compliance for ISO9001:2000, ISO14000, AS9100 and ESD.
•    Solves a broad range of problems varying in scope and complex

Job Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree or University Degree in Engineering or equivalent. 
Typically 4-5 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in process control, quality control, ISO audit and experience working in cleanroom.
Exposure in laser interferometer and optic technology would be advantageous as well.
Good communication skill, interpersonal and leadership skills, time management, decision making and ability to work independently.
Flexible with changes in job roles and willing to learn/adapt.
