Job Description

The MSGP (MMIC, Subsystems, Gateware and Processing) section within Keysight labs in India supports a global team of MMIC and Subsystems Engineers that design industry-leading mmWave front-end products. These products address variety of market applications (5G, Automotive Radar, Aer/Defense) partnering with Solutions Groups. 

We have an opportunity for an experienced RF/mmWave Design engineer to join our team. Candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Designs RF/mmWave Keysight IC Packaging, products and comprehends the active and passive components that make up the architecture.
  • Performs MMIC and passive co-design at the system/sub-system level with strong understanding of concepts such as wideband operation and parasitics.
  • Facilitate transition of package / product / technology platform and its enhancements to full production/delivery covering all aspects of design flow: Design, fabrication, measurement, and validation. Enable further platform extension if performance is desired, to meet next generation needs.
  • Designs and develops RF/mmWave microcircuits that complement the MMICs in technology leading, innovative integration platforms.
  • Can design using broad engineering concepts and research techniques, documenting research and design specifications.
  • Solves complex and high impact design and development problems including customer application issue of varying scope and complexity.
  • Uses product and customer applications knowledge to determine, define, develop, and validate design concepts and methods.
  • A successful candidate should also enjoy technical challenges, demonstrate leadership, work autonomously, be highly motivated, take initiative to proactively solve problems, be adept at creating a plan then executing to that plan, and exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be successful in a high-energy, fast-paced, and fun environment.
     

Job Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering, RF mmWave Specialization) is required with at least 2-6 years or relevant experience in designing RF/mmWave products.
  • A Masters or Ph.D in RF/mmWave is a must
  • Be able to read and create circuit schematics and block diagrams
  • Experience in working with high frequency RF measurement equipment. Fluency in using S-parameters and the Smith charts on Vector Network Analyzer / Spectrum Analyzer and oscilloscope and perform necessary calibration and measurement
  • Experience with printed circuit board design
  • Designs, develops, executes, and evaluates validation testing and product specifications.
  • Candidates must also have experience publishing scientific results and be competent using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Adobe InDesign

Desired Qualifications

  • RF/Microwave microcircuit design – specially in passive structures such as Antennas, Filters, Diplexers, Equalizers, Couplers, Baluns etc.
  • Experience with any 3D EM solvers like EMPRO, CST or HFSS 
  • Experience with layout tools, like: ADS, Mentor Expedition or Cadence Allegro
  • Understanding of SMT Technology, PCB Design, Analog circuits, digital and RF circuit design
