As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will support the design, development, qualification, and life cycle sustaining of PCBA and System level hardware used in high performance Ethernet and Network communication test equipment.

 

Job Responsibilities


•    Provide engineering expertise and assist in design leadership towards the development of highly complex PCBA designs.
•    Provide engineering ownership of hardware development projects; prototyping, bring up, integration, and delivery to production.
•    Perform clear documentation of hardware design specifications, design validation documents, and failure analysis reports.
•    Draft and drive Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) against prototype and production hardware.
•    Provide research and guidance to support electrical component selection, component EOLs, and component replacement issues.
•    Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering process.

Job Qualifications

 


•    BSEE, CSE, or equivalent and at least 5 years of engineering experience.
•    Experience successfully leading the development of complex FPGA, ASIC, CPU, and DRAM based PCBA designs.
•    Experience in designing both discrete and modular high-power POL systems targeting FPGA and ASIC PCBA platforms. Some experience performing PI/SI a
•    Strong technical writing capability and solid communication skills.
•    Knowledge of PC architecture and a good understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
•    Strong experience using electronic test equipment such as DMMs, DSOs, Logic, Spectrum and Network Analyzers.
•    Strong experience and ability to troubleshoot electronic hardware issues to the component level.
•    Strong experience in reading and understanding electrical schematics, technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.
•    Strong experience using Cadence Allegro and Orcad CAD design suite.
•    Strong mechanical aptitude and a knowledge of how to handle and assemble electronic hardware and the use of basic hand and power tools.
•    Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team.
•    Competent at keeping notes, tracking tasks, and an ability to multi-task and balance workload.
•    Experience using Linux OS, Bash, or Python
•    Strong knowledge of high-speed serial communication systems and related PCB signal integrity concerns.

 

Desirable:


•    Experience using Cadence Sigrity or Keysight ADS for PI/SI power analysis.
•    Experience with FPGA development in network applications.
•    Experience programming in VHDL, C, or Python
•    Experience performing Spice circuit analysis.
