As a QA engineer you will be involved in system testing Ixia’s bleeding edge network test applications.

Use existing and build new test cases to qualify new features, new protocols and technology in the product.


What You Will Do:


  • Develop and execute manual and automated test cases to qualify cloud related features and protocols in Ixia network test products involving both hardware and virtual test beds
  • Run system test cases and automate them, including in regression coverage.
  • Organize and provide input in FS/TP review.
  • Required to translate Marketing Feature/Product Requirements Documents (FRD/PRD) use cases in test scenarios;
  • Required to maintain up-to-date documentation (TP/TC)
  • Required to provide input in customer support escalations.
  • Adheres to Ixia documented QA practices and standards; Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Bugs: Root cause isolation, steps to reproduce, problem description, proper logs and files attached.
  • Work with high scale topologies in system test beds which will require to be highly skilled in terms of managing and updating various components of the test bed
  • Leverage existing automated tests and also create new automation test cases.
  • Work on customer escalations and add them to system test coverage
Job Qualifications


  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in working in Network testing involving virtualization and cloud technologies
  • BS in Computer Science or related, or equiv.
  • Master’s degree accepted in lieu of 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience working with Hybrid and public cloud APIs/technology
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure google cloud. Certification is a plus.
  • Strong automation knowledge (scripting language, automation harness). Preferred Python/TCL/Perl/REST.
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale systems
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP) and MPLS technologies (L2 VPN, L3 VPN, MVPN)
  • Expertise in configuring third party devices like Cisco, Arista switches and routers (certifications are a plus)
  • Expertise in configuring AWS, Azure. Private and hybrid cloud environments
  • Knowledgeable about tools and debug techniques (Wireshark, Ixia, automation harness);
  • Virtualization expertise using VMWARE and Linux KVM environments
  • Knowledge of Open Flow, SDN protocols is a plus
  • Ability to work and debug in Linux and Windows environment
  • Ability to provide technical supervision to another QAE.
  • Ability to monitor progress for a minor release (Patch, Hot Fix) and flag up any delays; able to suggest mitigation plans
  • Works on assignments of moderate to high difficulty requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
  • Strong written and communication skills, need to be a team player
