Job Description

Possible locations are: Bochum (Germany), Budd Lake (NJ) or Loveland (CO).

The Strategic Portfolio Planning team is seeking an energetic, results-oriented product planner to manage a portfolio of power instruments, DC and AC supplies, loads, regenerative systems and related software. This role requiring strategic thinking, market expertise and ability to influence strategic direction through technical expertise and leadership.  This position requires working with key customers to research markets and customer requirements, to create a roadmap and to define the next generation of products that meet the customer needs.

You will work closely with the lead customers, business development and R&D teams to define winning segment-agnostic product roadmap and drive implementation with cross functional team to meet business and growth goals.

The position requires knowledge and understanding of power products and power market, and general-purpose measurement products and instruments market. This role also requires candidates to have deep understanding of the technology and product lifecycle processes with a track record of cross-functional collaboration, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key activities

  • Market Segmentation leading to a prioritized opportunity roadmap
  • Evaluation of the competitive landscape
  • Definition of the complete solution consisting of hardware building blocks and application software
  • Definition of technical component requirements

Your Skills

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar with 3+ years of power electronics applications
  • Good insight into the DC and AC power markets, ability to analyze and identify opportunities and define strategies
  • Sound business judgement
  • Track record of getting things done in a matrixed, cross-functional environment (R&D, product development, financial planning, customer interface)
  • Communication skills and open mind to facilitate interactions with colleagues and clients in different countries and cultures across the globe
