Keysight Technologies has a full-time position for an advanced manufacturing engineer in the domain of photonic / electrical communication test and measurement. The manufacturing solutions enable high quality product development and launches into our world-wide supply chain. This position is located at our Boeblingen site, which is located approximately 20 kilometers from Stuttgart.


Keysight in Boeblingen is a product development site and has many technically challenging jobs. We design and build test instruments and solutions for the high-speed digital & optical, photonic stimulus & response and computer verification market. These instruments are performance and market leading products, which are used extensively by leading electronic and communication companies worldwide. Overall the company has over 13’000 employees with sales of over $3B annually.


You will focus on the definition, development and maintenance of manufacturing and measurement solutions for our photonic hybrid processes. You will specialize in defining, designing and implementing solutions for our photonic integrated circuit manufacturing, optimizing process workflows, improving automatization and quality. It includes the definition of the required equipment, tools, processes and algorithms and embedding your solution in our manufacturing environment.


You should have a passion for optical and electronical measurement technology, know-how in optical and electrical telecommunication and photonic integrate circuit science and like designing tools and processes. You should have a strong dedication to work with hardware and doing process automatization and be able to apply the standard software development tools, as well as be passionate with supporting our manufacturing operations with continuous improvement and deep level root cause analysis. 


You will join a dynamic and professional team, which helps you acting successful in this leading-edge technology environment. A successful candidate will:
1.    Work with a world class cross-functional team of product development engineers and production engineers launching new products and processes for our hybrid manufacturing line and support our standing operation team
2.    Participate in global teams (Europe, US, Asia)
3.    Use state of the art engineering and project management skills to develop, optimize and support manufacturing solutions for our flexible and competitive manufacturing landscape
4.    Be highly motivated and experienced to accomplish all tasks to meet aggressive product development schedules and world class manufacturing expectations
5.    Bring diverse knowledge and practical experience of optics, photonics and automatization techniques together to develop and maintain hybrid manufacturing solutions with our worldwide cross-functional domain experts
6.    Use quantitative analytical and mathematical skills to help with failure and root cause analysis
 

Job Qualifications

•    M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (optical communications, RF technology), Physics or similar
•    At least three years practical expertise with a successful project leadership
•    Experience of process automatization (i.e. alignment and tool development), hardware concepts and photonic integrated circuits for hybrid manufacturing flows
•    Cross-domain fundamentals in photonics and quantum electronics, optical telecommunication, high-frequency science and measurement techniques
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft software development tools (C# / MS.NET) and good presentation skills
•    Practical experience in project management, cross-functional teamwork and technical leadership for operations
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for successful inter-group and intra-group interactions with the dedication for project management and technology leadership
•    Fluent English and German
