What are you working on at Keysight?

I've been planning and facilitating the events we have for our summer interns. I get to host fun trivia nights, our Leadership Speaker Series with Keysight employees, and other exciting events. In the Fall, I'll get to assist with recruiting efforts from different universities.

How does your role at Keysight complement your major and vice versa?

As a business major, I feel my classes with communication and public speaking have helped me to become an energetic event host. In addition, I learned a lot of fundamental concepts to recruiting and the different areas of HR in my introduction to human resource management course. My role here at Keysight helps me to utilize communication skills I learned in school, making me a stronger presenter.

What do you like best about working with your team?

I enjoy being able to voice my opinions comfortably. I also love how supportive the people I work with are, they demonstrate appreciation when a job is done well.

Did you participate in any virtual Keysight social events/activities?

Yes. As someone who plans all these events, the one I had fun in the most was one where I got to relax and be an intern with my fellow interns. The virtual escape room event was super fun because it was my first time ever in an escape room.

What’s something you’ve learned while at Keysight?

I learned how to step outside of my comfort zone in reaching out to people who are in higher positions of authority. The open door policy at Keysight is something I value a lot.

If you could give one piece of advice to future interns, what would it be?

Believe in your ideas, voice them, and make an impact. We all have the potential to create a positive impact here within the company, so put yourself out there!

How would you compare working at Keysight to working on your degree?

Working at Keysight is a lot more fun than working on my degree (there's not as many fun events like this anymore with my university since everything is virtual).

Describe some of your favorite moments at Keysight.

My favorite moments are getting positive feedback from my manager, peers, or coworkers. Every chance I get to connect with others is a good time. One of my favorite moments was when I got to host a Kahoot! game with the Talent Acquisition team, and they had a great time.

What will you take from your experience with Keysight into your future endeavors?

I will have a higher standard for how important a strong, collaborative, and communicative company culture is when applying for jobs.

What has surprised you most about interning at Keysight?

The open door policy surprised me. I haven't tried reaching out to our CEO to say hello, but I have been able to have a chat with our current CTO Jay Alexander.
